Whats Behind That Smile?

I'm looking particularly happy here.
P1030019
Why I am smiling so? Because after waiting for nearly two months, my Alexa bag from Mulberry arrived. Along with my mom, of course.

I've used this bag pretty much every day this week - one of the reasons I wanted it so badly is because of it's versatility. The long straps mean the bag can be worn several different ways - across like a messenger, looped around short like a shoulder bag, or tucked in for a school bag look. The brown leather is soft for comfort yet sturdy enough to hold heaps of things. This is going to be my It-bag for all those plane and train rides in Europe.

All good reasons to smile. And of course, some TLC and pampering from Mom too goes a long way. =D

So tell me, what's your go-to, It bag? Or better yet, what's making you smile today?

I'll be your girl....

Photobucket
...your Style Spy Girl of the Week, that is. Thanks to Nicole, whose blog I adore from Le Mode Du Jour, for asking me. They chose my clashing floral pattern outfit I posted from Hong Kong. You can check out the full Q+A article here, which talk about my style inspirations and pet peeves.

I'll also be the Canucks Girl of the Week any day. I've decided that wearing my jersey on game day is a curse as they've lost a few times when I've worn it. So I've come up with a more creative way to support our boys for tonight's game. A game day jersey outfit post! Thanks to my friend Melissa, the #1 Trevor Linden Fan, for taking these pics.

To glam it up, I couldn't resist these chained shoebooties. Just got a nude pedi too for spring.

One more thing: Happy Friday!! What are you lovelies doing for the weekend? I'll be watching the game tonight, doing some cycling, and some house and travel planning stuff.

A New Crop

Photobucket
Fashion, like the seasons, come and go, but I surely did not expect I would try the latest rounds of cropped tops. I picked up this lovely black racerback crop top at Simply Sublime last Friday, and I pulled it out for a holiday-Monday brunch with one of my besties, Sam, visiting from out of town. These pics were somewhat hastily taken, and I forgot to snap my paint-splattered purse, a notorious item that some of my friends have called the ugliest, most hideous thing they have ever seen, while others just love it. Ah, another day.

The new crop has come a long ways since the old belly-baring-low-rider days; the new school are draped, asymmetrical, cut and layered in creative ways.

Along with the crop top, I brought home a slinky gold snake - my come-hither power piece.

Layered underneath is my new multi-coloured neon, leopard print bikini from Roxy (I hit the beach later that afternoon). The bottoms are reversible. Neon has been strong all year, and I see it carrying into the next season.

As the hazy days of August meld into the first Fall leaves, we can look ahead to some exciting style trends. I was polled on Twitter by the lovely Dream Sequins on what Fall trends I'll be rocking - check out my answer here along with the results from other Twitter stylistas.

What Fall trends will you be rocking?

RIDDLED REVEALED: For those wondering, the answer to the handbag riddle in this post is....Chloe!!

No Such Thing as Free

The devil made me do it. Ok, maybe not, but I did just drop a hefty chunk of change over the past couple of days on new duds. I went shopping for a pair of high-waisted shorts, like the pair below, and ended up with a high-waisted skirt, tie-dyed racerback tank, hot pink and grey mini dress, and grey hoodie from Urban Outfitters. Pics to come over the weekend.

There is also a free international shipping and an ongoing sale until the end of June at my fave online store, ShopBop. So my fingers did the walking and I ended up with some damage on the credit card: a black mini skirt from LaRok, a Marc by Marc Jacobs cashmere cardigan sweater, and finally, a pair of Elizabeth and James cream pumps.

in the meantime, still no high-waisted shorts...should I bite the bullet and buy these custom-made shorties in red?
