Wounded Knee

Photobucket
There's usually not much good that comes out of putting a pavement rash on your knee, especially when you've fallen off your hot new bicycle. The little pink machine and I went for a nice ride on Saturday, and everything was going stellar until, well, I wiped out on a sharp corner coming down a big hill. It was quite silly really, but lucky for me, nothing more than a bad skinning.

To turn a bad into a good, I decided to do some consolation shopping at Vincent Park, a local boutique which coincidentally was having a sale. With my bandaged up knee, I hobbled up the narrow staircase in search of goodies.

I picked up this pretty pink floral skirt, 2 pairs of skinny jeans for $70, and a shirt for hubby. That and eating an ice-cream sandwich helped make the pain go away.

Due to popular request, I have paired the outfit with my paint splattered purse that people love or loathe. You decide.

My Lover, My Maker, My Breaker

Photobucket
All dressed up and ready to class it up with hubby at our friend's beachside cottage for a BBQ, but then hubby asked me if I really wanted to meet a bunch of new people (it was a "meet my new girlfriend/her friends-meet-his-friends kinda thing) in that dress. What can I say? Body-con is back, and I thought my bf blazer and patent oxfords were all business.

So I changed and wore my tiered grey skirt instead.

Will have save this hot pink tighty for another nitey.

Totally unrelated - the subject line is from a song (Miles) by Mother Mother, whose catchy tunes I can't stop listening to.

My lover, my maker, my breaker
Take me by the hand
We could go walking for miles
Once we reach the sand

Nearly Nude

Photobucket
They've arrived - my Elizabeth and James strappy pumps. They came, along with the other goodies in my Shopbop shipment. This is my first Elizabeth and James purchase, and I was nervous that the shoes wouldn't fit. The colour was described as "bone" but I find they are more like a nude beige. I absolutely love them!! They must be the highest heels that I own, as they make my other stilettos feel like ballet flats. My Marc by Marc Jacobs cashmere cardi also arrived, and at $139 (discounted from $300 plus), it was a steal.

The box from the shoes was gorgeous...I love the ink blot design and the black ribbon tab.

Get Your Leather On

Photobucket
It's already June which means I'm just over 6 weeks away from my horse show at the Southlands Riding Club - yay! I had another great horse weekend, and my good friend Melissa came out to the barn to hang out. It was kind of a windy day and Fancy was being quite spirited (to put it mildly).

I had trouble doing the liverpool jump (over a small pool of water) and at first she stopped and ran out on me. Melissa got a few funny pictures of that. When I eventually got her to go over, she leapt across it like it was a raging fire, not a 2 inch deep plastic pan of water. I think I grabbed some mane. After that she was ok going over it.

We let her loose in the cross country field too and I did some small stuff - logs, fences and tires.
