Get Your Leather On

Photobucket
It's already June which means I'm just over 6 weeks away from my horse show at the Southlands Riding Club - yay! I had another great horse weekend, and my good friend Melissa came out to the barn to hang out. It was kind of a windy day and Fancy was being quite spirited (to put it mildly).

I had trouble doing the liverpool jump (over a small pool of water) and at first she stopped and ran out on me. Melissa got a few funny pictures of that. When I eventually got her to go over, she leapt across it like it was a raging fire, not a 2 inch deep plastic pan of water. I think I grabbed some mane. After that she was ok going over it.

We let her loose in the cross country field too and I did some small stuff - logs, fences and tires.

You'll have to take me riding one day. It's been a good decade since I've ridden.

Or maybe it'd be a better idea if I just watched from afar.

Kels - noooo you have to ride with me. it'll be so fun. I'll get you the most sweetest, tamest pony that you can trust and we can go do trail ride.

Wow, great shots! I used to go horseback riding as a teenager... yes, in Hong Kong if you can believe it (way out in Fanling, where the Jockey Club has another outpost). Those horses were slightly crazy though... most of them were retired race horses so you can imagine... I do miss it a lot, but I think I'd need a lot of easing in ;-)

aw thanks everyone for your sweet comments. Miss Fancy is awesome.

@Haute-Shopper - i totally know where youre talking about - i rode there before too in Hong Kong. yes, those horses are all crazy ex-race horses so they were a bit out of control especially for jumping. and the 30 plus degree weather is nasty!
